PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Succession planning is a focused process for keeping talent in the pipeline and involves preparing employees for possible future roles. Developing a comprehensive succession plan for senior management is an essential function of any HR department. Being able to establish a business case will make the job of HR a lot easier when convincing the C suite and ensuring proper resources are allocated to establishing a robust program and ensuring employees in the pipeline have the necessary tools and resources to meet the requirements.

Since not all succession plans are the same, how does a company identify what will work for them? The presentation will consider potential obstacles and how to overcome them effectively and what the key components are in developing a successful program. How to develop programs for C-Level executives and other critical roles within the organization.

It is essential to use data and analytics in succession planning decisions and not how likeable or similar to the incumbent someone is. The presentation will explore how to identify the skills, core competencies, experiences, attitudes, education that actually drive business results.
