PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Every day, your employees interact with clients and colleagues from a variety of religious backgrounds. With workplace diversity increasing across the U.S. and around the world, employers need proactive solutions to end religious discrimination and harassment in the workplace and to foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers and other business contacts with varying religious beliefs. A leader at tackling religious bias in the workplace, the Tanenbaum Center for Religious Understanding is a secular, non-sectarian nonprofit organization that promotes mutual respect with practical programs that bridge religious difference and combat prejudice in schools, workplaces, health care settings and areas of armed conflict. This program, developed by the Tanenbaum Center, will include the following topics:
Trends: The impact of today’s mix of trends – immigration, globalization, adherence – on religion in the workplace.
Bottom Line Reasons for Addressing Religious Diversity: The bottom line business implications for proactively addressing religious diversity issues, including rising EEOC complaints and the effect on recruitment, retention, morale and productivity.
Religious Bias Danger Signs: Tanenbaum’s ten danger signs of obvious and subtle forms of religious bias that frequently show up at work.
Finding Creative Solutions: Case scenarios of actual situations provide an opportunity to understand how issues of religion emerge in the workplace, and how to develop creative accommodations.
Better Practices and Implementation Tips: Strategies to support human resource managers in proactively addressing religious diversity and contributing to a culture of religio-cultural respect in their workplaces.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
